Allen Iverson Faces Jail Time If He Can't Pay $71k In Child Support In 72 Hours

Allen Iverson has 72 hours to pay $71,000 in child support or he'll be spending some time inside of a jail cell, according to a report.

Iverson admitted that he told his ex-wife Tawanna that he had no intention of paying her child support despite that fact that he had just received $462,460.24, giving him the ability to pay child support. With him admitting to saying he wouldn't pay the child support, a judge held him in Contempt of Court and ordered him to pay a total of $71,000.00 within 72 hours, or otherwise she'll order the Fulton County Sheriff Office to place Iverson under arrest and keep him in jail until the payment is made.

The judge, Bensonneta Tipton-Lane, also stated in her written order the following:

The father, rather unapologetically, testified that he had consumed alcohol "maybe twenty" time recently, including during his parenting time; that he had not taken any therapy sessions; that he had not attended any AA meetings; and that he did not intend to attend any.

If Iverson is arrested for failing to pay the $71,000 in child support, he'll receive 5 days in jail.
